The sweet, intense aroma with citrus notes found in the wood of the American tree Bursera makes it ideal for using anywhere where incense plays a role. It is also used by Native Americans in religious rituals, and its fragrant white smoke is believed to drive away evil spirits and provide protection. Palo Santo is said to possess a mystical ability to bring positive energies, purify, and allow for deep spiritual connection.

Usage:

Prepare an incense container and fill it with a layer of sand or other insulating material to prevent the container from overheating.
Light the wood, let the leaves burn for a few seconds, then blow out the flame and place the bundle in the container.
Hold the incense container and a feather, fan, or other tool in your hands and walk through each room. Use the feather to direct the smoke onto the areas you wish to cleanse.
Wait until the wood stops burning.

Note: After using the incense, ventilate the room. Do not inhale the smoke directly.
