Green maté (Yerba maté) is one of the most commonly sipped drinks in Latin America, where it is also grown (Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Chile).
Recommended preparation of 0.5 liters of tea:
First infusion - 10 - 40 g of tea pour about 80 °C boiled water into the calabash.
Mate - crushed leaves of the Paraguayan holly, which grows in South American countries. Because maté does not contain the leaves of the tea plant, this drink does not need to be strained after pouring - in fact, it does not become bitter as the pouring time increases. It is commonly recommended to pour 80 °C water over the maté, but it is also possible to pour cold water over it (with the proviso that it is left to stand longer in the fridge - ice maté), and the drink is topped up as needed, as long as it tastes good.
