Product description Japanese Green Tea Genmaicha Matcha-iri 100 g
Genmaicha is a delicate blend of roasted brown rice grains and Sencha tea that has been a favorite of tea connoisseurs in Japan for centuries. In its place of origin, it is one of the most popular teas drunk every day. The roasted rice gives Genmaicha tea its distinctive aroma, the quality Macha a delicious balance of flavour and aroma. A cup of this tea then takes on a colour similar to Gyokura. Usually Genmaicha is made from a mixture of roasted rice and low grade Sencha, Nibancha (second harvest tea of the year) or Sanbancha (third harvest tea of the year). Our Genmaicha Matcha-iri is the only one made from the Ichibancha variety (first harvest tea of the year) and is available at reasonable prices. Therefore, we are confident that its taste and aroma is definitely fuller and more refined than other Genmaicha tea varieties.

Recommended preparation of tea in a 0,6 l pot:
first infusion
- pour 1 - 1.5 tablespoons of tea into the teapot so that the bottom of the teapot is roughly covered
- fill with boiled water at 60°C
- do not allow to infuse for 3-5 minutes, during taste and let it infuse longer or strain according to your preference
second infusion
- again pour boiled water over the tea, this time at a temperature of 60-70°C
- let it infuse for about 5-7 minutes (more or less according to your taste) and once the infusion suits your taste, strain
.
Note on preparation: the times given are approximate and it is good, for example, to pour off a little tea after a certain time of infusion, taste it and, if necessary, strain the whole infusion or let it continue to infuse. The tea should be to your liking, and if you prefer stronger teas, for example, use more leaves or extend the steeping time. Don't be afraid to experiment with the tea, it's the only way to discover the flavours that suit you best.
