Baphomet's seal appeared in the early nineteenth century as a cipher, pieced together from symbols and animal attributes in the works of Eliphas Lévi. It was originally related to alchemy and magic, but in the nineteenth century its form was borrowed by the emerging Satanic Church and given new meaning. The name Baphomet, probably an Old French corruption of the name Mohammed, thus came to be known today as the name of the devil.

The so-called Satanism that has survived to the present day arose from the ideas of Anton LaVey, but in the absence of an idol it is difficult to speak of a true religion . This philosophy does not preach hatred, blood sacrifice, or other controversial activities that we usually imagine under the term Satanism and that we know from horror movies. Its purpose is the benefit of man, satisfying his personal needs and goals. As opposed to the Christian religion, it proclaims that man is his own god, in control of his own life, in charge of his own affairs, and in charge of his own responsibility. The measure of his behavior is not the fulfillment of an absolute good, but the degree of pleasurable feelings and accomplishments he achieves. It is obvious, therefore, why this direction has been demonized by the Christian church.

The amulet in the shape of the seal of Baphomet helps its wearer gain control of himself and fulfill his desires and wishes. It reminds him that he alone decides his actions and his destiny.
