The origin of this symbol lies in the Egyptian myth of Seth and Osiris. According to legend, Osiris ruled Egypt. But Seth envied his brother's power. He murdered him so he could rule himself. Horus, who was Osiris's son, fought a battle with Seth in which Seth tore out his eye and tore it into six pieces. Yet in the end, Seth was defeated and Horus got his eye back. It is from this legend that the symbol of the Eye of Horus was created, which is also often depicted as being composed of six parts.
