Traffic restrictions on Zábrdovická

From January 16, 2025, there will be significant traffic restrictions on Zábrdovická Street in Brno due to the modification of the tram line between the Military Hospital (Vojenská nemocnice) and the railway bridge on Bubeníček Street. This first phase will last until February 16, 2025.

Traffic restrictions

• For drivers: The direction from the city center to Stará osada is closed. However, do not follow the detour signs through Merhautova Street to reach us. You will get to us much more easily and quickly if you take Lazaretní Street - after the bridge over the Svitava River, turn before the church towards Nová Zbrojovka and keep going straight to the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit, and at the first traffic light, turn right back onto Bubeníčkova and Zábrdovická towards the city center. You'll be with us in approximately 450 meters.

• Public transport: This phase does not affect trams in any way. Bus line 64 towards Červený písek is diverted between the Uzavřená and Stará osada stops through Krokova and Kuldova Streets, skipping the Tomáškova stop. In the opposite direction, the route remains unchanged.

Next phase of the project

The modifications include not only the displacement of the tram line, but also widening of the road, reconstruction of sidewalks and modernization of public transport stops. The goal is to improve the transport infrastructure and prepare Šámalova Street as the main access road to the developing Nové Zbrojovka district.

The suspension of tram traffic in this section is planned from the second half of May until the end of August 2025.
